MVA - VEHICLE HAULING A RACE CAR

 

May 2nd - At 18:08 Company 6 was alerted for an MVA on Route 322 west of the Borough. Jefferson County advised one vehicle hauling a race car off the roadway with no injuries, Pumper 6 and Chief 6 responded with 20 volunteers. Units found a race car and trailer in the woods and confirmed no injuries, accident clean-up and traffic control only. Subject hauling the race car was on their way to Thunder Mountain Speedway just down the road.

 

 

 


SMOKE IN BUILDING

 

May 2nd - Company 6 responded at 13:42 for smoke in a structure at 446 Main Street in Reynoldsville Borough. A Gas Well Purchasing business recently moved in and noticed smoke in the structure, Engine 6-2 and Rescue 6 responded with 19 volunteers. Crews checked the building with thermal imagers and concluded the smoke came from an overheated light unit.

 

 


STRUCTURE/FLU FIRE - ROCKDALE RD WASHINGTON TWP

 

Apr 30th - At 13:39, Company 6 along with Falls Cree, Dubois City and Sandy Twp 38 were alerted for a structure/flu fire on Rockdale Road in Washington Township. Rescue 6, Tanker 6 and Engine 6-2 responded . Fire personnel cleared the chimney and used Thermal Imagers to check the entire structure for extension. The fire was contained to the chimney area.

 

 

 


MVA - 1 VEHICLE INTO A POLE WITH WIRES DOWN

 

Apr 29th - At 23:22 Company 6 was alerted for an MVA on Gaswell Road in Winslow Township, one truck into a pole with wires down and no injuries. Reynoldsville PD received a call direct and requested FD to the scene. Pumper 6 responded and secured the scene until PSP arrived. PSP remained on scene until Penelec arrived.

 

 


AFA WITH NATURAL GAS IN THE BUILDING

 

Apr 23rd - Company 6 was alerted at 12:02 for an AFA with natural gas in the building at the Jeff Tech Vocational School. Engine 6-2 and Rescue 6 responded and found all students evacuated form the structure. School staff pulled the fire alarm due to the smell of natural gas in the building, the building was searched with no success on finding the natural gas leak. The scene was secured until National Fuel Arrived. Students did not have class the following day.

 

 


FARM TRACTOR ROLL-OVER WITH MEDEVAC

 

Apr 22nd - Company 6 was alerted at 15:30 for a farm tractor rool-over on West Liberty Road in Winslow Township. Reports to Jefferson County 911 were a farm tractor had rolled down the side of a hill and the patient was not trapped. Pumper 6 and Rescue 6 responded with 15 members to assist EMS and STAT MedEvac.

 


BUSY DAY FOR THE 6 HOUSE

 

Apr 19th - The first call came in at 13:30 when Company 6 was alerted for a brush fire on Point View Road, Winslow Township, Pumper 6 and Brush 6 responded along with 21 members. Units found a brush fire directly endangering two structures. Units contained the fire with no damage to either structure.

 

The next call came in a at 14:13 for Company 6 to assist Brockway FD with a large woods fire on Clay Plant Road. Tanker 6 remained on the scene for several hours.

 

At 15:15 Brush 6 along with Chief 6 and manpower responded to assist Sandy Township with a large woods fire on I-80 at milemarker 101. Crews were on scene for several hours.

 

Then at 16:49 Company 6 was alerted for mutual aid for a working structure fire on Wasson Avenue in Sandy Township. Rescue 6 responded with numerous members, along with several  who were already in Sandy Township battling a large woods fire. The fire was contained to a small portion of the residence. All 6 House members assisted with mop up and ventilation.

 

 

 

Ending the day at 20:20, Company 6 was alerted for mutual aid for a brush fire in the area known as "The Puzzle Piece" in Winslow Township, Pumper 6 and Tanker 6 responded with 24 members to find a 1-2 acre fire burning in the woods.

 

 

 


2-3 ACRE BRUSH FIRE IN McCALMONT TOWNSHIP

 

Apr 18th - Company 6 was requested mutual aid for another brush fire, this time on Panic-Wishaw Road. Pumper 6 and Brush 6 responded with 14 volunteers to assist.

 


5-6 ACRE BRUSH FIRE IN McCALMONT TOWNSHIP

 

Apr 17th - Company 6 was requested at 15:28 to assist Jefferson Company 16 with a brush fire on Highland Park Road, Brush 6 and Pumper 6 responded with 8 to the scene. Units on scene encountered a very thick/steep hillside burning. All units were on the scene for a little over two hours.

 

 


4-5 ACRE BRUSH FIRE IN WINSLOW TOWNSHIP

 

Apr 16th - Company 6 was alerted at 17:59 for a brush fire on Route 310 south of Reynoldsville Borough, Brush, Tanker and Pumper 6 responded with 25 members. Jefferson Company 16 was also requested to assist at the scene. Approximately 4-5 acres were burnt.

 


STRUCTURE FIRE - SYKESVILLE BOROUGH

 

Apr 11th - At 17:47 Company was alerted for a working structure fire in Syksville Borough at the Laundry Mat, Engine 6-2, Rescue 6 and Snorkel 6 responded along with 22 to the scene. The fire contained to the dryer, all 6 units assisted with smoke removal and mop up operations.

 


MVA WITH ENTRAPMENT ON ROUTE 322

EAST OF REYNOLDSVILLE BOROUGH

 

Apr 8th - Company 6 was alerted at 14:40 for a an MVA with entrapment on Route 322 East near Well's Junkyard, Rescue 6 and Pumper 6 responded with 19. Units found one vehicle in the woods with one elderly patient trapped in the vehicle.
